In the spirit of keeping warm, we’ve found a great little recipe worth sharing!  A warming mug of Mulled Wine might just keep the winter blues at bay…

Mulled Wine

  • 1 bottle of hearty red wine
  • 6 tablespoons brandy
  • Juice and zest of 2 oranges
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 8 whole cloves
  • 1 whole star anise
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • fresh vanilla pod, halved lengthways
  • 75g brown sugar
  • Extra orange slices for serving

Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and gently heat for 15 minutes (do not boil).  Remove saucepan from the heat and leave to infuse for 1-2 hours.  Strain and gently reheat before serving.
